Paint Your Own Snowdog – Week 1

Meet the Art Club at St. Lukes Primary School where students from years 4, 5 & 6 are designing their own Paint Your Own Snowdog!

The Paint Your Own Snowdog figurines will be decorated with their designs over the next 5 weeks. Follow the Paint Your Own Snowdog blog posts to view the Art Club’s Paint Your Own Snowdog progress!

Week one starts with good old fashioned research and what better way to start than by watching a few clips of The Snowman and The Snowdog animated film! The students also found out more about the Snowdog Art Trails and took a good look through all the giant Snowdog sculpture designs for some inspiration.

Brainstorming, their ideas ranged from a rainbow Snowdog to a roller skating pooch, an emoji Snowdog, a cupcake dog and a starry night Snowdog. The ideas started to flow as did sketches and scribbles across the page.

The Paint Your Own Snowdog comes complete with a 6 water based paints and brush as well as an outline of The Snowdog to help plan out your design. Next week St. Luke’s Art Club will be finalising their designs, selecting a colour palette and choosing one design to apply to the Snowdog canvas! We can’t wait to see what they come up with.
